A Lifelong Afterthought

He put me in the suicide letter, but it seemed to be an afterthought. His wife leapt off the page amongst tropes on "infidelity." My name was shoved into a simile, between "siblings" and "who never return emails." Most people would rather avoid mention, but somehow it still hurt to be my older brother's side note.
